Abstract :
For closed-loop controlled step motors, new phase control schemes are presented to minimize torque ripples. A method which is used to obtain the torque ripple representation for a required average torque is described. Both the conduction angle and the lead angle are controlled to generate a desired torque at a given speed and to achieve minimum torque ripples. The control strategies for minimum torque ripples are also described.<>
