Abstract :
Transit network planning project is implemented by a series of short-term transit network optimization processes. Considering transit flows data is easily got by transit companies, this paper introduces a simple new method on short-term optimization for transit network - CVO method, which is convenient for transit companies. The CVO method is realized with the transportation software -TransCAD based on transit IC card database under the guidance of long-term transit network planning project. In the method, minimizing the gross of passengers´ turnover is the optimization objective and minimizing the gross of travel distance of all the transit buses is the accessorial optimization objective. The model has been proved to be effective and convenient when used in transit network optimization in Changchun.
