Abstract :
To apply IPv6 to IEEE 802.15.4-based low-power wireless personal area networks, efficient packet header compression is essential to adapt to limited bandwidth, memory and energy resources of such networks. While the existing header compression solutions are yet to be perfected, an improved header compression scheme is proposed which has the capability to better support the compression on IPv6 multicast address, UDP, ICMP headers and routing extension headers as well.
