Abstract :
Summary form only given. Development of z-pinch instabilities in a single wire of a wire array can be strongly influenced by the presence of the external magnetic field produced by the currents in other wires of the multi wire array. We plan to present 3D hybrid simulation results of m=0 and m=1 instability development from the Bennett equilibrium profile in the presence of external magnetic field in the plane perpendicular to the axial direction of the pinch for different values of external magnetic field amplitude. The aim is to analyze the possibility for generation in the excited wave spectrum the fastest growing modes with selected wave numbers. The combined effect of the axial magnetic field and magnetic field in the plane perpendicular to the axial direction on the instability development will be presented as well.
