Abstract
Service economy and service computing are taking a surge in interest in what is being called Service Science or SSME (Service Science, Management, and Engineering). From the historical perspective, this paper analyzes the birth and research object of SSME, argues that compared with traditional ICT applications, service science focus on the reconstruction and integration of digital service system. Here, integration is defined as a process of redefining and connecting parts of a whole in order to form a new one. To obtain flexibility and service innovation, from service and integration perspective, this paper presents a logical integration model of business system based on service components, which shows the similarity with the technical architecture. Finally, a generic conceptual architecture for the integration using the SOA approach is proposed, related research problems are identified.
