Abstract :
An approach is proposed to monitor the rate of lump coal based on image processing. The video signal output from a camera is put into a computer image gathering card to get the lump coals original picture in the coalface. After pretreatment and edge enhancement, the computer recognizes the lump coal and calculates its size. Finally, we count the data, display and print the result. Using this method, we effectively improve the quality of raw coal on a comprehensive mechanized coalface
