Abstract :
Some problems of storage architectures such as DAS, NAS and SAN have been analyzed. A new network storage system named as Intelligent Network Disk (IND) has been proposed. Its hardware architecture and file system (INDFS) architecture have been presented. Further discussion of its file routing and resources balancing algorithms has been introduced. A basic experimental system based on IND has been constructed. Theoretical analysis and experiment results prove that IND is a novel storage system with tolerant-fault strategies and workload balance advantages.
