Abstract
A development is carried out on trial with a novel zero voltage soft switching PWM DC-DC high-power converter using IGBTs, which makes the most of the parasitic LC parameters of high-voltage transformer link, for a diagnostic X-ray power generator. Experimental results prove that the zero voltage soft switching strategy based upon the resonant pole concept includes practical potentiality and promising advantages under elevated operation frequency, which leads to a further reduction in the physical size and weight of the total system as well as the realization of high-quality imaging of an X-ray high-voltage power generator for medical utilization.<>
