Abstract
The signal-to-noise ratio of image sequences can be improved by motion compensating temporal filters (MCTF). Combining filter results for an image sequence with combining motion compensating temporal filters (CMCTF) provides movement informations for the sequence. A flexible FPGA implementation automatically instantiates the design depending only on a few image and algorithmic parameters. Some speed measurements for a filter are compared to results from an existing C implementation running on a PC. With the FPGA implementation we observe a speed acceleration up to a factor of 11
