Abstract
A novel diode rectifier circuit with an additional switching circuit operating at triple power line frequency is proposed. The proposed circuit has multilevel input voltages corresponding to the output voltages of conventional 18-phase inverters. The capacity required for the additional circuit and the operating limit of the proposed rectifier are discussed. Experimental results showed that the proposed system can produce very good input current waveforms and give very good characteristics.<>
