Abstract
This article presents the theoretical analysis and the experimental results of a wire antenna. The wire antenna has been particularly designed to illuminate complex targets with an electromagnetic impulse. The aim of the study is to realise a low frequency (200 MHz-1.2 GHz) Radar Cross Section (RCS) measurement facility in the time domain. Then, not only the antenna has been designed to radiate and to receive short pulses without distortion but also to illuminate the test zone with an homogeneous and uniform electric field. The antenna must be fairly directive with maximum field in the axial direction
