Abstract :
A BPA (black printer algorithm) is the algorithm that controls a K (black ink) with respect to the CMY (cyan, magenta, yellow). We implement the third order polynomial BPA with an ink jet printer. First of all, it needs to find out the characteristics of the ink on the printer and then some equations describe the characteristics of the printer. The equations have third order polynomial forms using interpolation. An experiment and its results are provided. The BPA extends the gamut of the printer and raises the contrast as well as saving the amount of ink
