Abstract :
In this paper, we propose a scheme that can effectively control the cell loss rate and cell delay for each QoS class in an output queuing system. In the proposed priority scheme, loss sensitive cells are given a higher priority to access the buffer to ensure a smaller cell loss probability; while delay-sensitive cells are given a higher priority to access the output link to meet the shorter delay requirements. Four traffic classes of combining two different delay and loss requirements are considered in the performance evaluation. The simulation results show that the proposed scheme can control multiple QoS classes effectively and efficiently
