Abstract
This study is aimed to develop a method of reliable automatic decision making for washing the polluted insulators in substations near coastal areas based on the actual data of the human decision making, the pollution deposits and the weather information. The automatic decision making is based on discriminant analysis by using the multi-dimensional normal distribution. Effectiveness of the proposed method is assessed by applying it to actual data of substations
