Abstract :
One of the major drawbacks of solar cell is its efficiency limits. Reflection losses, recombination losses, thermal losses and series resistance losses are mainly responsible for the poor efficiency of solar cell. Shadowing loss is a major component of the series resistance loss. To optimize the efficiency, we concentrate our work on top contact design of concentration Si solar cell to analyze the shadowing loss for different top contact pattern. In this work, we study three different geometrical patterns for busbar and two different geometrical patterns for finger in five different combinations. These combinations are (i) Rectangular finger-Rectangular busbar, (ii) Conical finger-Conical busbar, (iii) Conical finger-Rectangular busbar, (iv) Rectangular finger- Conical busbar, (v) Conical finger- Diamond shape busbar. This work finally shows the minimum shadowing loss for the Conical finger- Diamond shape busbar combination and the maximum loss for the Rectangular finger-Rectangular busbar combination.
