Abstract
Microwave based measurement of dielectric properties of materials has been studied in a vast amount. However, these studies are mostly confined in the biological area. This paper presents a method of measuring the dielectric properties of non magnetic liquid materials using coaxial probe. These probes are modeled in CST Microwave Studio for investigation. Practical experiments were carried out using the network analyzer. Results from both the software simulator and network analyzer are discussed here. The results indicate that dielectric properties measured from S-parameters can allow us to measure contamination level in liquids.
