Abstract :
We present a numerical model based on three-dimensional (3D) finite element modelling for the piezoelectric transformer (PT). The resonant frequency and low frequency regions of operation of PT for voltage sensing are discussed and experimental results are presented. Results from the numerical analysis are compared with these established results. Hence, a model suitable for low frequency voltage measurements and disturbance monitoring in power systems is proposed and developed with a scope for future design modifications.
