Abstract :
Summary form only given. In several experiments it was observed that the resulting electro-optic signal possesses an oscillatory tail, which was not observed with antenna. Here we investigate the origin of this oscillatory tail by comparing experimental results for different crystal lengths and sampling-pulse wavelengths with detailed calculations. The experiments are performed in [110] oriented ZnTe crystals with three different thicknesses. As a terahertz pulse emitter we use an InGaAs layer in reflection geometry.
