Abstract :
The "heavy-weight team" organization is effective for key projects, and has already been widely used both at home and abroad, especially for the R&D key projects. During the executing process, a pivotal issue of the "heavy-weight team" is how the tacit knowledge could be quickly and successfully diffused and learnt among the team. This paper takes the projects that used the "heavy-weight team" organization (including the largest R&D projects at CNPC until now - GeoEast) of China National Petroleum Corporation (CNPC) as an example, discusses the conversion process of tacit knowledge and explicit knowledge as well as the organizational learning in the project management and the knowledge management when finishing the project. Finally, the new pattern of organization learning of the "heavy-weight team" is brought forward.
