The authors have discussed research issues such as strategy, legality and management, which are relevant to advancement of applications of e-business. These issues are becoming important in the face of spates of pure dot-com failures. The authors realize that e-business is multi-disciplinary and thus has far and wide research implications in its adoption. The authors are involved in various research activities. Two activities- investigations of business model for e-tailing and the customisation and value adding processes in user interface, are being undertaken and discussed in this paper. This paper is relevant to researchers, academics and practitioners in almost all professions
