Abstract :
This paper discusses the calibration of odometer´s scale factor with tire temperature, which is a critical parameter for dead reckoning in vehicle navigation system especially when GPS is not available. In this work, we propose an INS/Odometer/CDGPS calibration approach to off-line estimate the scale factor. By combining CDGPS measurements and odometer´s outputs, the scale factor with tire temperature can be precisely identified using kalman filter. Experimental results show that the relation of odometer´s scale factor and tire operation temperature is approximate linear, the model has good applicability and the accuracy of vehicle navigation system can be remarkably improved.
