Abstract :
Summary form only given. We discovered that if the supercurrent is modulated by femtosecond laser pulses that have a sufficient high speed, as in the case of the photoconductive antenna, the ultrashort electromagnetic (EM) pulses with several hundreds femtoseconds time width can be emitted from high-T/sub c/ superconductors. These EM pulses contain a wide range of Fourier components ranging from 0.1 to a few terahertz.
