Abstract :
From present popular BI(business intelligence) products and people´s understanding, BI is a set of new technologies such as DW, OLAP and DM which are used to handle with and analysis structured data which mainly come from ERP, SCM, CRM or other business data in order to support decision-making. This paper introduces a new kind of BI - text-driven BI which is built on unstructured and semistructured text data and apply text mining technology to find out unimaginable business value. At first it analyzes the general application framework and general system framework of text-driven BI, then points out the technological bottleneck - information extraction which is more obstructive in the development of Chinese text-driven BI. Even though, there still has a good prospect in China which is analyzed at the end of the paper. With the development of text mining technologies, Text-driven BI will be remarkable characteristic of next generation BI.
