Abstract :
We introduce three practical cases of systematic management of subjects in Liberal Arts at two universities. In College A, systematic management on information literacy classes is done with the aid of qualifying exams and that of basic English classes is performed cooperating with part-time instructors. In University B, systematic management of information literacy classes is done through cooperation with the teacher agency. Then, the full-time instructors decide on the common contents, textbooks, schedule, handouts, tests, and common criteria for evaluation, and inform the other instructors by distributing papers. Finally, we discuss what Liberal Arts education should be by referring to a reform plan of Liberal Arts at Otemon Gakuin University.
