Abstract :
The Venezuelan power system is composed by the generation and transmission recourses needed to supply the power demand all around the country. The power system is interconnected by means of a high voltage transmission network knew as the RTT. Highly dependent of hydro generation located in only one river, the optimal operational planning that guarantees demand supply at least cost and preserve the important hydro resource depends on weather conditions. These are important issues, more when electricity demand has experienced a high rate growth in the last years. This paper presents the simulation for the optimal dispatch of Venezuelan interconnected power system generation for the period 2006-2010
