Abstract
This paper is about the interconnected operation of the electric power system of Venezuela and Colombia, which is also interconnected with the electric power system of Ecuador. The inter-area oscillations between such systems will be analyzed using modal and transient analysis, along with the impact that a contingency in one system will have on the other one, evaluating also the performance of the current area disconnection relays located in the interconnecting line
