Title :
Modelling of Capacitive Voltage Transformer using FEA

Abstract :
A model of capacitive voltage transformer (CVT) was developed. The model covers a representation of capacitors, their material properties, both dielectrics and conductors. 2D simulations by using FEA are achieved, imposing physical operating conditions on the physical model. Electric field and stored energy are computed with a total deviation lesser than 1% respect to analytical calculations, which permit to validate this simplified model. Also, finite element analyses to investigate structural deformations of the numerical model are carried out, and diminutions of the dielectric properties were obtained in the deformation point. Additionally, a raise of electrical gradient and a diminution of the voltage yield values were calculated
