Abstract :
This paper investigated the development history of fault diagnostic technology for equipments, especially remote fault diagnostic system based on Internet and Web technology in detail. Then, this paper proposed a framework of remote fault diagnostic system based on emerging Grid technology to enable coordinated resource sharing and problem solving among multiple equipment suppliers and equipment users, and then described its architecture. Multiple fault diagnostic Grid services are integrated in a uniform web portal upon the Manufacturing Enterprise Grid Support Platform (MEGridSP). Case study is conducted based on our practice in implementing fault diagnosis system for manufacturing equipments based on MEGridSP.
