Abstract
Using recovery voltage measurements (RVM) on full scale objects, the influence of load history on the condition of the paper insulation of a transformer is investigated. It is shown that the presence of large local area´s of insulating paper with a different ageing conditions can be detected in the polarization spectrum. Also the importance of knowing external conditions when interpreting the measurements is demonstrated
