A Conceptual Model for Independent Innovation of New Drug in China

The imitation is the main means to produce new drugs in China at present. Upgrading doorsill of new drug and changing of new drug protection make it very difficult to develop the new drug in China. It´s necessary to study on mode for new drug independent innovation. A conceptual model for new drug independent innovation which has the Chinese characters is presented, based on empirical research undertaken with a leading Anti-tumor new drug H101 producing (Sunway Biotech Co., Ltd) and based on a review of some key literature in this area. The model acts as a toolkit aiding research and development of new drugs. In the result, some suggestions are given. A public medicine information platform should be established. Venture capital should be encouraged. Systematic way should be made to assure the benign interaction relations between short-term benefit and the long-term investment. Preferential talented person policy should be measured.
