Abstract :
We will try to go through design, technology, functions and technical improvements in a modern recloser, so as to ensure a correct protection, control and measurement. This document is meant to show the importance of modular design to result in an appropriate recloser, leading to complying with needs of utilities, and taking into account the possibility of update and change the different parts to newer technologies, in order to adapt existing equipment to the growth of distribution networks
