Abstract :
The National Metrology Laboratory (NML) of South Africa had designed and manufactured six Ultra-Low Expansion (ULE) Quartz capacitors in the 1970´s. These capacitors have proven to be very stable over the period up to present. A collaborative project between NML and the National Physical Laboratory (NPL), India is underway to manufacture, with improvements to the previous design, a series of such capacitors.
