Abstract
The tremendous social, environmental and commercial values of RS/GIS applications are rapidly being recognised by many private and governmental organisations. The applications of RS/GIS have so far been confined to Earth Resource Studies using geo-referenced data. In this paper, we report novel efforts which are directed towards optimising (using the decision-making advantages of) GIS for image processing/analysis applications
