Abstract
The applicability of Genetic Algorithm (GA) to solution of industrial optimisation problems is investigated through the experience in applying GA to Image Processing optimisation problems. GA proves to be an adequate optimisation tool for many systems that cannot be adequately modelled or those whose state space is too large such as may be encountered in an industrial manufacturing environment
