Abstract
Linear permanent-field synchronous motors are advantageous for applications in vertical transportation. This paper presents a simple and effective control system for a linear synchronous motor driving hoisting equipment. The control system has a closed-loop speed control scheme with an inner current control loop. The equations describing the mechanical part of the examined mechatronic system are briefly discussed. A simulation model of the hoisting equipment established for analysis and optimization of the system is described. Finally, the results of the simulation are compared to measurements taken from a model of the hoisting system to demonstrate the accuracy of the simulation approach
