  • Abstract
A unified method for the analysis and design of a family of resonant DC-to-AC inverters is presented based on a fundamental component approximation from the Fourier series expansion. The inverters include the zero-voltage-switching Class-D and Class-E inverters, and the zero-current-switching Class-L and Class-M inverters. The analytic techniques determine zero-voltage and zero-current boundaries and allow inverter design for specified line and load variations. The output V-I characteristics of the inverters are presented in a graphical form, and the duality properties of the converters are discussed
