Abstract :
Summary form only given. Cladding-pumped Er,Yb doped fiber lasers have been constructed with fiber Bragg gratings and Nd- or Yb-doped cladding-pumped fiber to produce output powers in excess of 10 W at wavelengths around 1100 nm. This has been possible through the design of efficient cladding pumped fibers with good diode to single-mode conversion efficiencies.
