Abstract :
The nodes of Wireless Sensor Network used in forest monitoring can not replace battery frequently, so they can not use disposable chemical battery with limited energy as traditional sensor network nodes. This article studied on the WSN node power system for forest monitoring, designed a node solar power system on the basis of analysis of the sensor node hardware and energy situation, and introduced the microprocessor control and software control flow of this system in detail. The solar power system was specifically designed to be capable of step-down and step-up the solar panel output DC (Direct current) voltage not only when the light is sufficient to meet the work requirements of each module of the sensor node, but also be able to step-up the output DC voltage when the solar cell was under voltage in poor light to ensure the energy supply in light or low light environments, extending the service life of sensor nodes. Finally, simulation results are presented to show the feasibility of solar power system applied in WSN.
