Abstract :
The spectral properties of nonlinear optical parametric amplification(OPA) based on collinear broadband pump are investigated theoretically. Taking into account the monochromatic pump parametric bandwidth(BW) and the derivative of pump wavelength varying with parametric wavelength, we present a method to determine the parametric spectral BW based on broadband pump source. Mathematical expression to describe the parametric spectral BW based on broadband pump is achieved. Results show good accordance with simulations and experiments published. It is helpful for optimal design of OPAs and optical parametric oscillators(OPOs), especially for ultra-fast optical frequency conversion.
