Abstract :
For all the solutions that EDA has already brought to the table, the relentless march of Moore´s Law continues to drive incredibly complex design and manufacturing challenges. Increasingly, physics and complexity are causing more than just technical issues: the economic realities are rapidly coming to the forefront as companies struggle for a sustainable ROI on design and manufacturing efforts. This presentation will examine the challenges faced by EDA in its attempts to move the semiconductor industry along the technology road map, with a particular focus on the economic and technology issues currently facing the industry and those looming in the near future.
