Abstract :
Under the background of performance-based code for fire protection design of building, and on the basis of the state-of-the-art of fire safety engineering as well as prescriptive-based code for fire protection design of road tunnel, this paper outlines the framework of performance-based fire protection analysis and design method for large cross-section road tunnel. The framework provide a preliminary guidance on the application of scientific and engineering principles to the protection of such road tunnels from the unwanted effects of fire.
