Abstract :
A general service-oriented control system for machine automation is introduced, as an alternative to proprietary, closed solutions. The proposed platform emphasizes interoperability and introduces some novel approaches in the machine control domain, such as the usage of peer-to-peer networking with distributed service composition. As a proof of concept, the platform was applied to convert a group of work machines into a collaborating fleet providing high-level, intelligent services.
