Abstract
Hazardous materials are used in many processes in the industry all over the world. Transportation activity of hazardous materials inherits many risks. In order to avoid the risks turning into real events, it is necessary to mitigate risks in the transport management, and the route is the key. The selection of routes under different factors is not easily achieved when considering economic and safety perspective. This article aims to develop a method for the selection of routes for the transport of hazardous materials taking into account economic and risk factors, A model of optimum transportation route is established by AHP (Analytic Hierarchy Process), and an example is shown to demonstrate the feasibility of this method.
