Abstract :
In view of the coexistence of multiple control systems in hydropower plant at present, the restrictions of the rate and reliability between the communications of simple bus such as MODBUS, and the limitations of the substantial data communications, this paper proposes a new program using OPC to realize the data transmission between the monitoring software of hydropower plant real-time monitoring system and the PLC or DCS.OPC is a specification interface protocol for connecting the data sources such as devices, databases, etc. with the client applications of the process control. The application of OPC in the supervisor information system (SIS), has provided a highly efficient and reliable new way for the data transmission.
