Abstract :
Results of the analysis of the gait of patients suffering from osteoarthritis in their hips are reported, showing the feasibility of an assessment of individual arthritic gait. The results were used to develop a method for assessing dynamic mechanical factors that engender or limit knee osteoarthritis. A routine for the measurement of the instantaneous center of rotation has been developed and tested that finds the average rotation center with an error of less than +or-2 mm.<>
