Abstract
Previous papers discuss the impact of soft handover parameters on soft handover probability and outage probability, by tuning time to trigger in Event 1A and time to trigger in Event 1B to be equal. However, they didn´t consider the drop rate that operators care most. Therefore, we propose to have different time to trigger in Event 1A and time to trigger in Event 1B. Our field test results show that the drop rate is better than the previous papers and the soft handover rate & BLER (block error rate) is about the same as the previous papers.
