Abstract :
In this paper, piezoelectric ceramics were manufactured by sintering process for 90 minutes at 1300°C with lead zirconate titanate (PZT-5) raw material and various kinds of piezoelectric fans were fabricated for application to a component cooling apparatus connected with AC 110 and 220 V, 60 Hz sources. Resonance frequency of the vibrating plate decreased with increase of the plate length (l) under a constant piezoelectric ceramic length (L). The displacement and wind velocity of the S5-p sample, parallel type fan (l=28.6 mm) have maximum values 34.7 mm and 3 m/s each at AC 110 V and 60 Hz, and decrease as the vibrating plate length (L) increases. The experiments on S12-s sample series-type fan (l=31.8 mm) showed the highest values of displacement and wind velocity, 35.5 mm and 3.1 m/s, respectively at 220 V 60 Hz
