Abstract :
Japanese Universities have reformed since the Ministry of Education changed the university standards in 1991. The many things impacting on the quality of higher education, such as curricula, syllabi, entrance examinations and others have been reformed. Student laboratory for undergraduates has been improved as one of the university reforms in the Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering, Kumamoto University. The key aspects of the improvements involve and presentation of results, introduction of long-term subjects, construction of a new building, fabrication after design and incorporation of Internet instructional materials. Students from two groups. before and after the introduction of improvements, evaluated the laboratory improvements by answering a questionnaire and describing their experiences and opinions. The improvement of the laboratory teaching is clear from these results.
