Abstract :
Summary form only given, as follows. IEEE CASE 2007 is proud to announce the inception of an annual award for the Best Conference Paper. For the next 5 years sponsorship for this award has been generously provided by Spansion, Inc., the world largest NOR Flash memory provider with its headquarter in silicon valley. The best paper in conference award is intended to set and honor a standard for excellence in engineering science, and to inspire future directions in automation. The "Spansion Best Conference Paper" will define this cutting edge in automation science and technology. The IEEE CASE 2007 Awards Program Committee has defined a process for selection of the best paper. In this process six finalists are selected from all the accepted papers by the Award Program Committee. These 6 finalists will present their works in a special "Spansion Best Conference Paper Award Session," a convocation of the entire conference. The best in conference paper will then be selected by audiences and the Award Program Committee. The audience vote weights the total 50% and the committee vote weights 50%. Each author of the winning paper will be presented a certificate and share a US$1,000 prize. If the best paper is not presented by a student as the lead author, a best student paper will be selected from the five remaining finalists. All finalists will be presented a plaque commemorating their participation in the best paper session ?? and the achievement of scoring in the top 3% of papers presented at IEEE CASE 2007.
