Abstract :
A technique for determining the total electron energy resolution (ηe,tot) of scintillators is described. The technique is based on measurement of the full-width at half maximum of the scintillator coincidence energy spectrum using the previously developed Compton coincidence technique (CCT). For determining ηe,tot , the CCT was modified to accommodate variable collimation of the scattered photons. MCNP simulations were used to guide development of data analysis techniques. Preliminary measurements indicate ηe,tot variation as the inverse square root of the electron energy over a limited energy range
